A few days ago I released new WordPress theme called Plain Fields.
Yes, I know, I’m a bit late with this post, but better later then never.
Plain Fields theme is a WordPress 3+ theme, with a very clean and simple design.
Theme has a lot of built-in functions, including SEO options, so that you won’t have to install gazillion plugins.
There are two versions available, Free and PRO. Free version has some of the functions that the theme contains disabled. But apart from that, it is the same.
Click here to a live demo.
More detailed info can be found on the Plain Fields page located here.

This is a great theme. Clean, simple and some cool options. Only comment I have is I can’t seem to figure out how to get rid of the teaser default without upgrading to pro…
Jonathan, in the WP admin area open the Plain Fields menu, click on the Teaser Text menu and then change the default text in the first field. Click Save Changes at the bottom and there you have it.
The theme is really great. I am ready to go for pro as soon as my translation is done (I am currently translate it in to another language). There are still several small issues though. I hope it can be fixed in the next version.
First, just below the title of each post there is a comment count (0 Comment/1 Comment/etc). This part of the text can not be translated in the po file. I am wondering if you could add this entry in the po file for translation purpose.
Second, in date format of each post, “Oct 11, 2010″ is used. There are other countries that prefer “2010/10/11″ instead of put month first. Is it possible to add a date format selection in the next version?
By the way, at the top right corner of the page, the icons (facebook/rss/etc, labeled as tc_sc_cont) seems to be too large in Firfox/IE and was covered by the menu. Is there a way to change that in the configuration?
I can certainly manually modify the php file and css file to fix all those issues. But if I go for pro, I would prefer not to change the php and css file source as I expect there will be update from time to time.
Thanks
I just tried the free version on my wp blog. The theme is simple, readable, has clean layout and some powerful options as admin.
I love this theme! Thank you so much for creating it and making it available. Can you direct me to an answer you’ve probably already addressed?
I’m just setting up my page now (content from http://www.companionanimalperspective.com will end up there once complete) and am having difficulty setting up the header. I’ve uploaded an image which displays just fine but I can’t seem to get the program to stop showing the original text/header image underneath.
Is there an easy fix for this?
Thank you again!

Marcy, you need to clear the Site Title and Tagline fields in the Settings -> General to remove the blog title and tag line.
Worked Perfect! Thank you :)
