Frequently Asked Questions

LTW Order-to-Board Sync Free

  • What should I check if a card is not created?

Confirm that the order reached an enabled status and that its board and list are selected. Check the Status > Logs tab for the failed request and reconnect Trello if authorization was revoked. After correcting the issue, use Retry failed card creation on the order. If the previous request was interrupted, check Trello before retrying to avoid duplicates.

  • Can repeated order events create duplicate cards?

Repeated requests for the same order, status, Trello board, and list do not create another card. A card may still be created for a different enabled status or destination. If a request was interrupted and you are unsure whether Trello created a card, check Trello before retrying.

  • What order information is sent to Trello?

The plugin sends the card content configured for an enabled order status. If you use placeholders, the corresponding order or customer values are included. Pro can also append selected order metadata. Only configure information you intend to share, and review the resulting Trello card with a test order.

  • Which placeholders can I use in card names and descriptions?

Use uppercase placeholders such as [ORDER_ID], [ORDER_STATUS], [NAME], [FIRST_NAME], [LAST_NAME], [COMPANY], [EMAIL], [ORDER_DATE], and [ORDER_TOTAL]. Placeholders are replaced with values from the order and customer. Review the card content before sending personal information to Trello.

  • Can Free use custom order statuses?

Free supports WooCommerce built-in order statuses. The Pro add-on extends support to statuses registered by other plugins or custom code.

  • Does Free create cards for every order status?

No. The Free plugin supports WooCommerce built-in order statuses, and card creation is configured separately for each status. Choose a Trello board and list, set the card details, enable that status, and save. Enabling one status does not enable the others.

  • How do I connect my Trello account?

Open Trello apps administration and create or select a confidential OAuth 2.0 client. Add the exact callback URL shown in the plugin settings and enable read:member:trello, read:board:trello, and write:board:trello scopes. In WooCommerce > Trello settings, enter the client ID and secret, save, then connect your Trello account and approve access. Keep the client secret private.

  • What are the requirements for the Free plugin?

Free requires WordPress 6.8 or later, WooCommerce 8.0 or later, PHP 8.3 or later, and a Trello account. To connect Trello, create a confidential OAuth 2.0 client for the plugin.

  • What does the Free plugin do?

LTW Order-to-Board Sync automatically creates Trello cards from WooCommerce orders. Configure card creation for each built-in order status, or create a card manually from an order. Pro is an optional add-on for additional routing and order-data features.

LTW Order-to-Board Sync Pro

  • Where can I find the Trello card links?

Pro saves Trello card URLs in the WooCommerce order history so staff can open the linked cards from the order.

  • Does Pro support custom order statuses?

Yes. Pro supports WooCommerce order statuses registered by other plugins or custom code. Free alone supports WooCommerce’s built-in statuses.

  • When are recorded Trello cards archived?

If card archiving is enabled in the General settings, Pro archives the order’s recorded Trello cards when the order changes to Cancelled or Refunded. Archiving is not deletion.

  • How does Pro add custom order metadata to cards?

Select the order meta keys for an order status. Non-empty selected values are appended to the Trello card description for each destination. Meta can contain personal, payment, fulfilment, or integration data, so only select fields that are safe for the people who can access the Trello board and verify the result with a test order.

  • Can a destination use a different card name or color?

Yes. Set a name or color on a destination to override the order-status setting. Leave the name blank or choose Inherit status color to use the status-level value.

  • Can one order create cards in multiple Trello destinations?

Yes. Add multiple Board/List destinations for an order status. Pro creates cards for each destination without a condition and each destination whose condition matches. If every destination has a condition and none match, no card is created.

  • Which order details can conditions check?

Pro conditions can check order total, billing country or state, currency, payment method, shipping method, order status, number of items, coupon code, customer role, and product SKU. Numeric comparisons for order total and item count include greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, and less than or equal to. Text conditions support equal to, not equal to, contains, and does not contain; text comparisons ignore letter case.

  • How does conditional routing work?

Each Board/List destination is evaluated independently in its configured order. A destination without a condition always receives a card; every destination whose condition matches also receives one. Destinations with non-matching conditions are skipped. If every destination has a condition and none match, no card is created.

  • How do I install and activate Pro?

Install and activate the Free plugin first. Upload the Pro ZIP from Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin and activate it. Then open WooCommerce > Trello > License, enter your license key, save it, and choose Validate license. Your site must be able to contact the lessthanweb license service.

  • Does Pro work without the Free plugin?

No. Pro is a separate add-on and requires LTW Order-to-Board Sync Free 1.1.0 or later, WordPress 6.8 or later, WooCommerce 10.0 or later, and PHP 8.3 or later. Connect Trello through the Free plugin. A valid Pro license is needed for license validation and Pro updates.
